With legislation pending in most states and already in place in NSW, the emphasis is being pushed back onto the property manager to determine if the tenant is suffering hardship due to Covid-19. Don’t be mistaken, this is very different from the instruction not to give financial advice to tenants. We are still able to ask the tenant for information that will help us determine their financial position, just like we do with any new tenant application.
