(Ashley Giles) #3

Hi All, Ashley Giles here. I wear two hats in this space, i own a business with my wife here in Auckland which we have built up over the past 10 years. We are at about 700 managements, operating in the central Auckland suburbs in primarily standalone high value houses.

I also am part of the LPMA community team, and work with Rikki, Bill and the rest of your LPMA hosts behind the scenes to make sure that LPMA is a space for all members to grow their business, share their experiences and ultimately lead the industry to a brighter future. By being here, you are already proving part of that change and I welcome you.

Thanks, looking forward to sharing this space and both sharing and learning some things along the way!

A.

I look forward to connecting with you all and learning from those who have already walked the path our office is walking right now which is Rapid Growth!

Thanks for this opportunity x KC

Hi Kiera,

Welcome, and thanks for joining! I think there should be a special badge for people in the industry for 10+ years who can still say they love PM! Keep up the great work, and very happy to have you here.

AG.

(Kimberley Yeeles) #8

Hi Everyone,

My name is Kimberley and I own and operate a Property Management company in Adelaide with my sister.

I predominantly do Business Development but still do some Property Management tasks.

I really enjoy working with people.

I have started to see the personal interaction being taken out of our industry through the use of technology. I think this is quite concerning as in my opinion the relationships we have with both landlords and tenants is so important not only in the day to day running of our businesses but also business growth.

I look forward to being a member of this forum.

Kimberley

Welcome Kimberley!

Great to have you here with us and looking forward to having you involved with the LPMA community.

I agree that we have to be careful how we use technology - this would be a good topic to start in a new thread and get everyoneโ€™s ideas about how theyโ€™re finding that balance between technology and improving systems, but also having that old fashioned customer service

(Ashley Giles) #10

Hi Kimberley,

Welcome! Thanks for your post, I agree completely. As a business owner my rule with technology is that it needs to free the team up to spend more time with the clients, otherwise its taking us away from our core responsibilities which is People Management.

Great to hear you and your sisters company has this at the centre of what you do. You have a tough market over there, how are you going with growth, are you finding like many that your treading water somewhat?

Thanks,

AG

(Terri Handy) #11

Hey Kimberley

So good to see you here :grinning:

I agree, our industry is all about relationships. Technology needs to enhance these, rather than take away from that personal connection.

(Linda Gulabovska) #12

Hi all,

I am Linda Gulabovska, Team Leader, Senior Property and Business Development Manager at Right Choice Real Estate on the South Coast of NSW. I have been in the industry for 26 years and absolutely love my job! Yes, it has its days, mostly reflected by a full moon! I couldnโ€™t do what I do without the support of my team. I am a true believer in โ€œCultureโ€ within our office. We are a team of 7, whilst the two Senior Property Managers, myself and Wendy Veitch each run our port folios, our team are pod based. We are all specialists in our own roles, yet adaptable enough to multitask and blend roles when required. We understand taking ownership is the key to survival in property management. Communication, consistency, commitment, respect, trust and empathy are the key factors to succeed in property management. It takes dedication, passion and devotion. When you have total support from the top of the pyramid, failure is no longer an option.
In turn a great culture increases productivity and undoubtedly keeps sick days at a minimum. Moral is high; the happier the employee, the more productivity is maintained, which reflects on the bottom line.
We bounce off each other day in, day out. 7 ideas and thought processes are better than one. We constantly train and grow. I live and breathe Property Management and am grateful to be part of the LPMA community to share ideas, learn and grow further.

(Rikki Sambrooks) #13

Great intro Linda! Welcome to the LPMA forums - itโ€™s really great to have someone with your industry knowledge in our community and 26 years is a true achievement in itself! Looking forward to seeing your posts come through about what you and the team are up to and donโ€™t forget to start a new topic for that challenge that you all might be facing at the moment!

(Ashley Giles) #14
