New Staff Induction & Ongoing Staff Performance Review - Survey

Wondering if I could do a quick survey of the active participants within the LPMA community?

If you are comfortable to share - (hopefully) without judgement - that would be great…

Q1./ Do you have a formal New Employee Induction Program

Yes or No

Q2./ Is the Induction program used, the same for all roles, or is it role specific?

Same or Role Specific

Q3./ How long does the induction take?

  • Don’t have a formal induction - more of a chat / handover
  • Less than an hour
  • 1-3 hours
  • The full first day
  • a number of days in the first 30 days

Q4./ Do you have an conduct a structured staff performance Review?

Yes or No

Q5./ How often do you conduct the reviews?

  • never
  • 6 monthly
  • 12 monthly

If you can copy the questions and delete the answers that are not relevant - then repost it - that would be great - just trying to see what offices do as part of the recruitment & retention strategy?

Cheers

Hi Michael
Q1./ Do you have a formal New Employee Induction Program

Yes

Q2./ Is the Induction program used, the same for all roles, or is it role specific?
We have a formal employee induction at the commencement of employment.
If their role changes and they move into a different role, we have another checklist and process that we follow to provide structure, introduction and support through that process.

Q3./ How long does the induction take?

  • Don’t have a formal induction - more of a chat / handover
  • Less than an hour
  • 1-3 hours
  • The full first day
  • a number of days in the first 30 days

Probably all of the above
To clarify, our initial meeting would go for approx. 1-1.5 hours.
We talk and discuss each day.
A formal training status and performance meeting is booked in for weekly.
as the employee progresses and becomes proficient, this is moved to fortnightly.
within a 3-6 months (doending on the role - the PM role may take longer to ensure they are supported and they are performing and training is planned), they are then moved to motly performance reviews.

Q4./ Do you have an conduct a structured staff performance Review?

Yes

Q5./ How often do you conduct the reviews?

Monthly.

Our staff retention rate is currently an average of 7.3 years for Property Managers and an average of 11 years in general (PM/admin/accounts/ sales/team leaders and management).

Hope this helps.
