How do you recognise high performance team members

We have discussed in a couple of other streams the concept of running a rewards and recognition program to acknowledge the hard work that our team does, but are there other ways we can recognize high-performance team members in your business and also give them more responsibility?

We often talk about the term champion. can we make them the champion of a product or idea so they know they are the high water mark for the business in this area and they are in charge of ensuring it stays that way through ongoing training and communication?

What are offices doing in this space to give high performers more responsibility without actually promoting them?
